IT Infrastructure Enhancement for Kazakhstan and Armenia

MEGA-TECH has provided comprehensive technical support for the overall operation of Information Technology systems and networks within the nuclear regulatory agencies in Kazakhstan and Armenia. In Kazakhstan, MEGA-TECH completed an inclusive redesign of the Kazakhstan Atomic Energy Commission (KAEC) data network. The study also included performance analysis, capacity planning and equipment selection for KAEC. Follow-on system installation involved installation and configuration of enterprise servers including a full suite of SUN Solaris software, SUN workstations, high-end HP workstations running Windows 2000/ME, 3COM 100MB switches, and a major rewiring of the current 10BaseT cabling plant. Other equipment incorporated into the redesign are HP network printers, high-end MAC platforms for publishing efforts, Sony 42" gas plasma displays to perform radiation mapping and HP Scanjets to support conversion of existing Kazakhstan Nuclear Regulations into electronic format. Other project tasks included installation of emergency generator power, new environmental systems, and radiation monitoring systems.

In Armenia, MEGA-TECH completed design reviews for network expansion and system requirements analysis to support establishment of a new Technical Support Office within the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ANRA). MEGA-TECH engineers expanded the ANRA network and installed new high-end network servers and workstations. Network expansion was supported with the installation and configuration of 3COM 10/100 switches. System documentation and configuration management data was developed to support all work.
